In such a great misfortune, what remains for you? / Myself, say I, and that is enough. - Corneille, Médée

I may end relationships based on blood purity. I suppose, though, that I would actually attempt to carry the relationship forward considerably before doing so or it would not be worth the effort.

[Warded Private to Self]

I question whether I am truly a lying two-faced bastard. I suppose I deserve this for caring for the barbarian's friends.[/End Wards]

[Warded Private to Eric Macmillan]

Let us be honest -- we are not friends. Yet I present to you a question on a subject which you once brought to my attention -- how truly inconsistent am I in my beliefs? [/End Wards]

I think I missed something.

For what it's worth, I think that's the honorable thing to do.

Which is the honorable thing to do?

End the relationship now as opposed to later. I don't know much about the situation, but I assume that you cannot will not be permitted to have a long term relationship with someone with a lesser bloodline. Prolonging a doomed relationship wastes time and leads people on. Not that many Hogwarts relationships are meant for marriage, but still.

Ah. Well, it's still better now than a year from now. She has friends to take care of her. How are you doing?

I am afraid not. It is quite difficult to end a relationship at your parents' request but be forced not to give that reason and thus end it with being a coward and disliked by all.

Though I suppose, not that it matters to you and you could always just go off and tell them this, her friends already disliked me and that I have taken the appropriate course of action despite their outrage.

Have you tried warm milk? I would suggest talking to Albus, but I'm not sure he'd be the best one to go to for relationship advice. I can't imagine him disliking you for this, however. It was at your parents urging then? Was it for blood purity still?

It doesn't matter to me not, but I don't see why I should run off to her friends anything at all. A scored Hufflepuff is a scary thing indeed, and I have no desire to fuel that drama.

Albus is rarely helpful with relationships, but I did ask to become a Potter. It was indirectly in relation to blood purity. It would be very difficult for my mother to accept a halfblood as a daughter-in-law, even if Miss Zeller and I had no plans to be married.

I would perhaps also be afraid.

I can see that. I am sometimes afraid Al is meant to be celibate, although Why would you want to be a Potter? You do know you'd have James as a brother, yeah? If it's you're parents, then, are you saying you don't agree with them (which I think you've implied to me in the past)? I think it's good to obey parents, at least while you live under their house, but you should consider taking a stand once you're out of Hogwarts

I imagine James would not be quite so awful of a brother in comparison to my mother.

I wonder, have you actually met James? Well, then, are you the newest member of the Potter family? I should think they will be renaming you. How do you feel about the name Remus Potter? Severus is already taken.

Ah, I guess I can see that. Well, good luck with your new family? Do you expect to date much? You have overprotective siblings now. And now Al won't be alone in Slytherin. Do you think you'll take his prefect spot?

Did you do it on purpose though? I mean, did you know you were just going to dump her eventually, or did you really think that it'd be okay despite like... everything?

I'm just curious.

Well...

It's not like you change your stated beliefs to agree with just anyone. I've never seen you switch gears just to please a muggleborn, for example. But you do backpedal a lot - your beliefs don't seem to match up quite with those of your "class," but when they question you publicly on it you seem to cave pretty quickly, excusing yourself and claiming that wasn't what you meant. Well, some of your class. Not with Saoirse's brother, which I can hardly blame you for. But definitely Ambrose Urquhart. You talk bloodlines and breeding with him in one breath and muggle things like the internet with Annie Z other people in the next. And muggle poetry.

I'm hard-pressed to find examples, though I guess I could if I tried. But it gives an overall impression of you being confused, or maybe just conflicted.

Alright.

But it could be worse. Follies aren't as bad as sins - they're easier to overcome, for one, and if you decide not to the consequences are usually less serious.

I doubt my dignety is of your highest concerns, Scorpius. I'm merely saying.. it seems far easier to take emotion outof it. Blood marriages are seldom about love. So if that is what you wish to have, a Blood marriage, then choosing someone yourself must be complicated. I wouldn't know.
